Whats the point?
According to this article the delhi government has banned the use of mobile phones in schools. all this after the sensational MMS scandal that took place a few months back which also lead to arrests of a student and a ceo of a auction company, well is this fair?
Was really technology with those kids the problem or was it something else? Why were the kids in such a situation in the first place? What do we blame for this media outburst?
Today MMS and Tsunami are two words that mean not what they are.. MMS means sex and Tsunami means death these words are totally redefined.
The other reason why i am writing this is because of i just came back from watching an episode of "We the people" on NDTV and was just thinking that, is the media doing a little too much in this case? One thing i can surely tell is that the MMS of those kids circulated like wild fire when the news broke out and more people saw the clip than if the news never came out..
so my question is where do we draw the line of letting the people know the truth and not make it free advertising for the wrong things? there is really stupid irrelevant news now a days on these news channels.. even the newspapers have lost it.. there was once this news of two kids who wanted to launch a rocket that they made... for the few days they were covered and then the media totally seems to have forgotten them.. but the news of a girl giving someone a BJ is still on and manages to have public debates on it(sex sells),, yes i know the issue may be more important than two kids science project but then lets talk about that, the actual point not about why a mobile phone or the Internet is bad.. don't blame it.. the problem is something else.
The message we are sending out is that having underage sex is ok but using hi tech mobile phones is not. So kids will still do what they are doing, but now they will be careful not to use a cellphone when doing it. I am sure they are intelligent enough to figure this out

Is this Microsoft's fault?
I came across this article where the author is wondering why windows sucks? and asks why don't all people move to mac.. well i am using windows since its 3.1 version to the xp version today, and have used it probably every day since then. i think that he has to live with all the problems that come bundled with using a windows system.i too faced the same problem that the authors friend had with a new dsl connection, i got a new connection and within 30 Min's my machine was useless for me. but after that i got norton Internet security installed and not one problem after that for more than six months... another reason for that is using Firefox as a browser.. this is simple and effective..
to the question of why windows sucks? well cant help it. if a majority of computer users were on macs software guys would surely work on some way to have 100's of popups, spyware and other things on it too.. how else would the Internet and imarketing survive?
Websites, News Portals, Auction portals what do they do? spread information and advertise, advertising works when the right customer is targeted, and on the Internet you don't know if the user is your kind of customer or your target.. one way of knowing is by tracking/seeing what kind of stuff he/she does on the net and know what kind of person they are looking at.. don't credit card companies, telemarketing companies do this? i use my card a few times in a store and the next thing i get is a mailer with offers of a similar store who has tied up with the card company.. what is this? just plain and simple spy ware, cookies whatever but this is important for marketing,,, i cant believe that this would not happen if 80% of the worlds computer users were mac users.
And how can i forget this.. Games where are they on a mac?
The other feature is ease of use that MS delivers, what else would explain using Microsoft Word on a mac???

Speed???
On my way back from work today, there was this incident where a person on a bike avoided another vehicle and avoided an accident, which got me thinking about something, whats faster, light or the mind? I have heard people tell me that the mind is a million times faster than light there is nothing faster that it.
Well light travels pretty fast as we know, some 300,000 km per second so if the mind has to be faster, the body would react before the eye sees it, reason being rays of light from the incident have not yet reflected from the subject to the eye and generated an image in the.. :) mind?? but this is also because the mind is equipped to approximate the next position of an object and make decisions accordingly.. so whats fast?
This took me to another tangent.. how fast will a computer be in the future? probably only as fast as electricity can travel? and finally one day networks would be faster because of optical fiber technology?
