Match

Heres the story :)

i was basically sick at home and had nothing to do! while making my lunch i saw the matchbox and thought of clicking some matchsticks and then came the thought of giving high speed a shot :)

i got a stack of cd's and kept the camera on it (tripod was too high) got a table lamp and set it up to face the matchbox.. used the macro filter and turned macro mode on and just took some test shots and the lighting seemed perfect. camera settings were on 1/1000 and f2.8 (yeah 2.8) don't remember the iso settings.. continuous mode (5 only thats all my cam gives at 3mp). hooked up the camera output to the tv so that i could lock the focus without being in all twisted positions to look at the lcd. shooting was one hand on the shutter release and the other holding the match with one leg behind the cd stack providing support and the other behind the matchbox! luckily the matchbox was the big one :)

Shoot Stats :
Time : 30-45 mins
Matchsticks used : ~75 to 80
Shots taken : ~200
Shots with match in frame : ~10
Shots with match on fire and frame : 5
Shots with match on fire and in frame and in focus : 3

this is one of the three which i liked.. it was real fun! next time will try something with the air gun ;)

Remember when I told you that a good photo should not only tell a story on its own, but also should be able to say something about the photographer as well? Now I know you are a very patient and through perfectionist. Way to go! Keep at it; we'll enjoy.

This is bad about commenting late, everything you want to say has already been said. Still, excellent pic and patience.
