You either have a great telephoto lens, or you know your way around charming all sort of critters. The subjects on all your animal photos always seem to pose for your camera!

Very close shot there. Is it telephoto? I'm thinkin about getting one but no money and confused? Should I stick to Canon or try Sigma and Tamron, how many mm? So many questions for a lens I probably use twice a year!
Now thinkin about getting a 50mm prime :-)

crisp and sharp for a close up shot - lovely! I love the detailing on the feathers.

This is a superb shot, Nish. I'd have printed it 12x8 or larger and made a wall hanging of it. Perfect metering!

Great shot! How did you manage to get so close to it or do you use a telephoto lens. You have composed the shot very well.

Thanks guys for your comments.
this shot was clicked with my fuji s5000 which has a 37-370 lens. the birds in Ranganthittu are really used to people. i was in the boat when i clicked this shot and it went real close to this bird, the bird was about 10-15 feet away.
